Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or related science area required.
• Must be qualified as a school nurse per state regulations.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience with pediatric populations desirable.

Responsibilities

• Works collaboratively with health care providers, families, school staff and community agencies to ensure access and continuity of care for students.
• Assists in establishing and maintaining a comprehensive school health program.
• Conducts immunization and health screening programs in schools.
• Performs nursing assessments for ill or injured students and provides first aid and referrals.
• Maintains accurate health records in compliance with state and federal law.
• Develops individual health care plans (ICHP) and supports IEPs as needed.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or related science area

Master's degree preferred

Must meet qualifications of a school nurse as defined in state regulations
