Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to support students with IEPs in a variety of settings. The role involves assisting with instruction, supervising student activities, and attending to personal care and medical needs as needed.

New hires start at grade 17 with potential promotion to grade 18 after six months of probation and required training hours. Outside duty may be required and flexible scheduling is possible.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s preferred.
• One year of experience with students in structured educational settings preferred.
• If no related coursework, two to four years of experience with children/adolescents may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Promote student learning and well‑being to support IEP students.
• Attend to student personal care and medical needs.
• Assist with instructional activities and classroom management.
• Support teachers and staff across classrooms or learning environments.
