Job summary

Springfield Public Schools' Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership seeks an experienced educator to teach grades 6–8, delivering rigorous instruction and fostering belonging to prepare students for meaningful academic and life opportunities.

Educators in SEZP serve as instructors, mentors, and collaborators, working within a culture of strong relationships, continuous improvement, and family engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching at the middle or high school level.
• Massachusetts DESE license in Moderate Disabilities (or eligible for waiver).
• Demonstrated ability to support a range of learners through strong instruction and relationships.
• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency preferred.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction using research-based curricula.
• Use student data and formative assessment to drive instruction.
• Build strong relationships with students grounded in trust and high expectations.
• Collaborate with colleagues in co-teaching teams and professional learning communities.
• Engage families as partners through regular communication and problem-solving.
• Uphold school-wide expectations and perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
