Job summary

Coatimundi Middle School in Rio Rico, Arizona is looking for a dedicated Middle School Assistant Cheer Coach to support the program immediately. You will collaborate with the head coach, teachers, and counselors to encourage academic progress while promoting sportsmanship and team spirit among student athletes.

The role involves planning and supervising practices, enforcing school and league rules, and ensuring the welfare and safety of all participants.

Qualifications

• Current AZ teacher certificate (preferred).
• Must hold CPR/first aid certification.
• Must hold AIA coaching certification.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively with staff, student athletes, officials and media to promote a positive image of District activity.
• Demonstrated ability to relate effectively with staff, students and parents.
• Such alternatives as the Governing Board may find appropriate, acceptable and reasonable.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach in implementing program philosophy and strategies.
• Promote the program within the District, community and media.
• Provide written rules/expectations to student athletes and parents.
• Supervise athletes during practices, on buses, and away trips.
• Plan practices with proper conditioning and fundamentals.
• Develop athletes to the highest degree of skill and integrity.
• Model respectful behavior and Pursuing Victory with Honor.
