MAPLE PARK MIDDLE is seeking an Assistant Cheer Coach to support the athletic program. The role requires advising students, assisting with practice planning, and coordinating with the athletic director and Head Coach to run interscholastic events.

Qualifications

• Valid Missouri teacher or substitute certificate issued through DESE.
• Preferred previous coaching experience in assigned sport.
• Knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes to perform essential functions.
• Board may find appropriate or acceptable alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coaching individual participants to develop skills in the sport.
• Assist in planning and scheduling regular practice in season.
• Work with athletic director and Head Coach on interscholastic contest scheduling.
• Recommend equipment, supplies, and uniforms as appropriate.
• Maintain attendance forms, insurance records, and related paperwork.
• Oversee safety conditions of facilities during activities.
• Establish performance criteria for eligibility in competition.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanship at all times.
