Job summary

New London Public Schools is seeking a part-time instructional support role to ensure that every child on the caseload receives an ongoing educational program as directed. You will report to the Executive Director of School and Family Supports and work closely with the district to implement individualized instruction and maintain required records.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide appropriate instruction to assigned students.
• Bilingual proficiency is highly desirable, esp. Spanish, Haitian Creole, French, or Portuguese.

Responsibilities

• Ascertain the educational needs and the physical and learning capabilities of assigned students.
• Implement an instructional program for each assigned student.
• Meet with each assigned student on a regularly scheduled basis to provide instruction.
• Keep, maintain, and file such reports and records as the Office of Special Services may require, including time sheets and student progress.
• Assume responsibility for obtaining appropriate textbooks and other teaching materials.
