Job summary

Peoria Unified School District in Sunrise Mountain High School, Peoria, AZ, seeks a Certified Teacher, Special Education to implement IEPs and provide specially designed instruction. The teacher will manage casework, deliver direct services, collaborate with staff, maintain records, and ensure FERPA/HIPAA compliance, while supporting students' access to the general curriculum.

Qualifications

Current special education teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement.
Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Must be able to pass a background clearance check.
Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona driver's license.
May be required to lift and carry heavy, bulky supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
May be required to lift and/or transfer students weighing up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

Provide case management services for students with disabilities, including IEP development and compliance.
Deliver direct services to students with disabilities as specified in their IEPs.
Follow district procedures throughout the special education process.
Maintain confidentiality under FERPA/HIPAA regulations.
Meet and instruct assigned classes per schedule.
Create a conducive learning environment and plan lessons.
Assess student progress and provide feedback; maintain records.
Collaborate with staff to implement accommodations and modifications.
