Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: None.
• Certifications & Licenses: Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in appropriate subject area.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Supervises students to protect their health and safety and to maintain order in the classroom.
• Assesses students’ progress and maintains records as required by law and district policy.
• Assists administration in implementing policies and rules and develops reasonable classroom behavior procedures.
• Makes provision to be available to students and parents outside instructional hours.
• Plans and supervises assignments for aides/volunteers and evaluates their performance with department heads.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
