Job summary

Floresville ISD seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year to support students with varied needs. You will develop and adapt curricula, prepare lessons, and work in self-contained, team, or itinerant settings as assigned.

Responsibilities include guiding ARD processes, developing IEP goals, collaborating with families and staff, and providing appropriate instructional strategies and materials to help students reach their potential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required Special Education endorsements.
Knowledge of ARD Committee process and IEP goal setting.

Responsibilities

Develop IEPs through ARD Committee process for each student.
Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program for assigned students.
Assess student learning styles and plan appropriate instructional strategies.
Present subject matter according to IEP guidelines and use varied media to meet student needs.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify curricula and assist special education students in regular classes.
Participate in ARD Committee meetings regularly.
Participate in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional media.
Maintain safety and protect students and property.
