SmartStart Education, LLC is seeking an Elementary ELA Tutor to work with small groups of 1–4 students at an urban elementary school in Landover Hills, MD 20784. The position offers both push-in and pull-out services to strengthen foundational ELA skills for 1st–5th graders.

The role runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with shifts 7:30 am–1:40 pm on Tue/Thu and 7:30 am–2:20 pm on Wed, starting 9/15/2026 and ending 2/25/2027. Pay ranges from $28.16–$31.29 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is mandatory; anticipated graduation dates not considered.
• At least one year of teaching or tutoring experience.
• Mastery of elementary school ELA concepts and skills.
• Understanding urban education disparities and challenges.
• Punctuality and reliable with clear communication.
• Ability to commute to Landover Hills, MD.

Responsibilities

• Lead small groups of 1–4 elementary students in ELA tutoring.
• Tutor groups on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
• Take daily attendance and monitor student progress using a personal device.
• Support students across 1st–5th grades with core ELA skills.
• Collaborate with school staff as needed.
