Job summary

Volunteers of America Southeast, Inc is hiring a part-time Direct Support Professional in Decatur, AL to provide compassionate direct care and support for individuals in the program.

The DSP will assist with daily living activities, documentation, medication administration and transportation needs, while promoting independence and dignity. Training including First Aid, CPR and CPI is required; starting pay is $15.00 per hour with shifts across all schedules.

Qualifications

• Requires being 18+ years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to collaborate with individuals, families, staff and partner agencies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to build rapport.
• Must pass required trainings including First Aid, CPR, CPI and VOA Southeast policies.

Responsibilities

• Guide, coach and encourage individuals toward maximum independence.
• Help individuals achieve personal goals through education and life experiences.
• Provide care across Decatur, Hartselle and Huntsville locations; ensure dignity and respect.
