131 DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS is seeking a Correctional Teacher I for the Education/Allen Gamble Correctional Center. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and an active Oklahoma Teaching Certificate to deliver instructional programs to inmates in a correctional environment.

Responsibilities include planning curricula, delivering classes across subjects, maintaining discipline, and documenting student progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and possession of a current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate.
• Experience in correctional education is preferred.
• Ability to supervise and instruct pupils and to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Delivers instruction in elementary or secondary subjects within the correctional setting.
• Plans and lays out courses of study, administers exams, and prepares progress reports.
• Uses instructional materials and provides guidance and counseling to students.
• Maintains classroom discipline and assists in planning school activities.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in program development.
• Maintains inventory of books and supplies.
• Participates in staff development activities.
