Job summary

Hohokam Elementary School in Scottsdale, Arizona is seeking an Instructional Support Paraeducator to assist teachers and support student learning. You will help adapt curriculum, administer tests, monitor IEP progress, and document student activities under a certified teacher’s direction.

The role includes tutoring, behavior monitoring, preparing materials, and supporting routine classroom tasks. Immediate start; pay grade J; non-exempt status.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D., and one year of educational or clerical experience.
• Ability to adapt curriculum to meet diverse student needs.

Responsibilities

• Assists teacher by helping with classroom instruction and modifying assignments.
• Provides one-on-one and/or group tutoring to students in various subjects.
• Monitors children’s behavior inside and outside the classroom; escorts students on campus.
• Assists with cleaning up and related tasks after daily activities.
• Prepares classroom for activities and organizes homework folders.
• Assists with grading papers and updating student information in computer systems.
• Attends in-service trainings and related meetings.
• Participates in testing and records student progress in applicable computer programs.
• Maintains bulletin boards and supplies; contacts parents and copies materials.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
