Job summary

Native American Rehabilitation Assoc. of the NW (NARA NW) is hiring a Child & Family Peer Support Specialist for an in-person, Monday–Friday role in Gresham, OR.

The position emphasizes using lived experience to support recovery, coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, and connect participants to health, housing, and transportation resources. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, and a Peer Wellness/Support Specialist certification registered with the Oregon Health Authority.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must hold a Peer Wellness Specialist or Peer Support Specialist certification and be registered with the Oregon Health Authority (OHA).
• Must have at least one year of relevant lived experience and knowledge of child- and youth-serving systems.
• Experience working with Native American/Alaska Native community preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as a role model and share lived experiences to inspire recovery.
• Provide mentoring, advocacy, coordination, and direct assistance to help clients obtain necessities of daily living.
• Assist with medical/dental health care, legal and advocacy services, housing, and transportation.
• Collaborate with the team to promote client self-determination and rights protections.
• Promote consumer self-help programs and culturally specific services.
• Support client participation in consumer advocacy organizations.
