Job summary

Commonwealth Community Development Academy seeks dedicated 1st and 2nd Grade Teachers to join our team in Michigan. This full-time role requires a valid Michigan teaching certificate, a Bachelor's degree, and at least three years of classroom experience.

Responsibilities include planning engaging lessons aligned to Michigan standards, using technology to differentiate instruction, tracking student progress, collaborating with colleagues, and communicating with families about student growth.

Qualifications

  • Valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements.
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of teaching experience.
  • Evidence of meeting highly qualified requirements under No Child Left Behind (NCLB).
  • Ability to teach and develop curriculum for assigned grade level(s).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and materials aligned with Michigan standards.
  • Use technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Support students who are behind in learning content.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to develop lesson plans and improve learning outcomes.
  • Communicate with students and parents regarding progress and needs.
  • Establish clear objectives for all activities.
  • Maintain classroom discipline in line with school policies.
  • Use assessment data to inform daily instruction.
  • Create classroom assessments to measure proficiency per Michigan standards.
