Empower Test Analyst (Mortgage Lending Technology), Senior Consultant, Global Consulting

Location: Remote, USA

About the Role

As a Senior Consultant within our Mortgage Technology practice, you will lead Empower LOS testing and UAT initiatives for top-tier banking clients. With 8–10 years of experience, you will manage cross-functional teams and client engagements, delivering solutions that validate origination workflows, ensure regulatory compliance, and support digital transformation. This role demands deep expertise in Empower LOS testing, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable testing strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to understand user requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Design and document test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on Empower LOS workflows including Origination, Processing, Underwriting, Closing, and Post-Closing.
  • Execute UAT cycles to validate system functionality and business logic.
  • Perform regression testing to ensure new changes do not impact existing functionality.
  • Track and document defects using tools like JIRA, ALM, or Quality Center.
  • Liaise with developers and QA teams to resolve issues identified during testing.
  • Participate in post-production validation and defect triage sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with CFPB guidelines (ATR, QM, TRID) and other regulatory standards.
  • Provide feedback on system usability and performance from an end-user perspective.
  • Assist in training business users on testing procedures and system usage.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in UAT and functional testing, preferably in mortgage lending or financial services.
  • Hands-on experience with Empower LOS including configuration validation, document management, and third-party integrations (e.g., RealEC, Equifax).
  • Strong understanding of the mortgage lifecycle and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, ALM).
  • Familiarity with SQL for data validation and querying.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple testing cycles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Exposure to automation tools like Selenium or QTP is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership in consulting engagements and client delivery.

Compensation

$100,000-$129,000. This position is eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
