Job summary

The Metropolitan School District of Washington Township is seeking a part-time School-Based Physical Therapist to support students with mobility needs across district campuses. The role involves evaluating students, developing individualized therapy plans, and partnering with teachers, families, and other service providers to promote independence and participation in school activities.

This position requires a Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy, valid state licensure, and NPTE

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Valid state licensure to practice Physical Therapy.
• Certification through the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE).

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations of students to assess motor skills and mobility within the educational setting.
• Develop and implement IEP goals and objectives related to physical therapy services.
• Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services to students in school settings such as classrooms, gyms, and transportation.
• Collaborate with teachers, special educators, therapists, nurses, and families to ensure coordinated care.
• Educate school staff on mobility techniques and equipment usage.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services and progress in compliance with regulations.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP and eligibility meetings.
