Job summary

Community Services Group is hiring a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community settings. You will build skills in daily living, independence, and social engagement, both on-site and in the community.

The role reports to the Program Supervisor and offers a 40-hour, first-shift schedule with no weekends or holidays, plus a two-week paid orientation and mileage reimbursement for orientation travel.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older with a High School diploma or equivalency.
• Must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Administers medication and treatment as permitted under regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships to promote emotional and physical well-being.
• Help adults develop life skills (cooking, housekeeping, money management, personal hygiene).
• Support preferences and promote independence and community integration.
• Help clients reach goals and encourage interdependence.
• Complete required documentation including electronic health records accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with agencies, families and other service providers.
• Assist with arranging medical care and follow health guidelines.
• Conduct fire drills and manage emergencies during shifts.
• Provide coverage in emergency situations.
