Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Virginia Teaching license with an endorsement in Special Education.
• Experience working with individuals with challenging behaviors.
• Experience working in alternative programs and settings.
• Certification to meet State requirements with specific endorsement in the area.

Responsibilities

• Prepares objectives and outlines for course of study following curriculum guidelines.
• Lectures, demonstrates, and uses audiovisual aids to present subject matter.
• Administers tests, records results, and reports progress to parents.
• Differentiates instruction based on varying student abilities.
• Maintains classroom order and participates in faculty meetings.
• Counsels pupils on academic and personal issues and informs families.
