Merit System Services is seeking an Employment & Training Worker I in Quincy, CA. The role involves providing employment services under supervision, assessing eligibility, and referring participants to appropriate programs and resources.

Training is provided as the incumbent advances toward higher responsibilities. Primary duties include client interviews, case management, and collaboration with regional employers to place participants in suitable paid or unpaid work training assignments.

Qualifications

• One year full-time experience as Eligibility Specialist II or Social Worker I.
• OR six months full-time plus 15 college units in career planning or related fields.
• OR 18 months of case management, vocational guidance, or employment services with 15 college units.
• OR two years of related experience.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.

Responsibilities

• Assist program participants in obtaining employment through counseling and referrals.
• Enter and maintain participant data in automated systems and generate reports.
• Coordinate with community resources and employers for job placements.
• Provide employment-related workshops and individual coaching.
