Job summary

Institute of Applied Behavior Analysis in Ventura County is hiring Employment Specialists to support adults with developmental disabilities across Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Ventura, Camarillo, Thousand Oaks and surrounding areas. Training is provided with flexible full-time or part-time options.

You will help clients engage in meaningful activities, accompany them to jobs, school, and community events, and promote independent living.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification required
• Reliable automobile and driver’s license required
• Able to lift 25 lbs and assist with personal care tasks

• Facilitate meaningful community connections with your clients
• Support individuals at their job site as a job coach
• Facilitate employment and life skill building opportunities
• Support individuals at their places of employment, school and in the community
• Provide transportation using personal vehicle and assist individuals in using public transportation
• Teach independent life skills
• Work 1 on 1 with clients or in a group setting

• Possess a minimum of High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Conduct themselves in a professional, responsible and reliable manner
• Have the motivation to learn new skills and help people
• Possess a reliable automobile and be willing to transport clients
• CPR/First Aid certification prior to start date
• Complete ACRE training within first year of employment
• Negative TB test result
• Provide personal care assistance as needed (restroom assistance/changing diaper, wheelchair assistance, comfortable with ADLs)
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and lift 25 lbs.
• Successfully pass a Live Scan DOJ/FBI background check
• Possess a valid California Driver’s license and provide a current driving record issued by the DMV
• Provide proof of current car insurance
• Prior training and/or experience in ABA are a plus!

Important Details!

• FT Monday-Friday Schedule - Hours dependent on client needs/work schedule; Some weekend opportunities available
• Full-Time 30+ hours/week
• 7 am - 5 pm availability preferred
• Part-time opportunity available! Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30 am - 2:30 pm
• Cases can be 1:1 or a group of 3 clients
• Rate: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Important information

• This role involves unsupervised, direct support of children and/or adults in home, school, and community settings. Duties include implementing behavior plans, managing behavioral escalations, assisting with daily living needs, entering private residences, and accessing confidential health and personal information. Employment is contingent upon meeting applicable pre-employment requirements, which may include verification of education, employment history, credentials, motor vehicle records (if applicable), and other role- or state-specific requirements.
• This role includes paid training and professional development opportunities, including required ACRE-related training and competency development designed to support success in employment services. Team members are required to successfully complete and pass all required training coursework, assessments, and competency requirements as part of the role within their first year.
