Our mission is to empower and support these individuals through Community-Based Day Habilitation and Supported Employment Services, helping them expand their life choices, increase social awareness, achieve personal satisfaction, and attain independence.

Position Overview

The Employment Specialist will work directly with individuals supported by LifeSong, assisting in Job Preparation, Searching, Placement, and Coaching. Responsibilities will evolve with the department’s growth under supervision of the Employment Services Manager.

Responsibilities

1. Implement LifeSong’s mission to love, enhance, equip, and inspire lives.
2. Assist job seekers in achieving long-term, independent employment through various activities like exploration, training, resume building, and site visits.
3. Maintain detailed documentation for each interaction to meet state agency requirements and ensure billing accuracy.
4. Record service times and research tools to enhance skill development.
5. Provide flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed.
6. Utilize agency vehicles, record mileage, and maintain proper documentation.
7. Communicate professionally with officials, families, and job seekers.
8. Network with local businesses and community organizations to promote employment opportunities.
9. Respond discretely to inquiries or complaints from families, agencies, and community members.
10. Attend required training sessions and maintain ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification (training provided by LifeSong).
• Current Defensive Driving certification (training provided).
• Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Work Details

Starting wage: $23.27/hr. Full-time, 40 hours/week, with potential overtime. Bi-weekly pay. Equal opportunity employer.
