STATEMENT OF THE JOB

Under the direction of the Clinical Manager for Behavioral Health, the Employment Specialist has responsibility for direct services to participants in the Personal Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) outpatient program. Responsibilities also include conducting phone referrals, initial interviews in preparation for other required assessments for enrollment, crisis intervention, conducting classes/groups/activities, and off-site services and activities under the CRS and ORS service component.

  • Responsible for direct services to participants in the Personal Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) outpatient program.
  • Functioning as part of the treatment team to maintain mandated levels of service.
  • Conducting phone referrals, initial interviews in preparation for other required assessments for enrollment, crisis intervention, conducting classes/groups/activities, and off-site services and activities under the CRS and ORS service component.
  • Providing opportunities for learning and developing skills to improve levels of independence, benefits education and training, and assessments for rehab readiness and placement.
  • Assisting with employment-related tasks including conducting mock interviews, providing job development, supportive employment, and integration in the community, and traveling independently.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Human Services field of study.
  • One or more years of experience preferred.
  • Ability to evaluate and intervene in crisis situations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, time management, organizational, and computer skills required. Must be comfortable with public speaking.
  • Ability to meet with residents and/or staff throughout facilities.
  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to travel throughout the five boroughs from site to site.
