A national non-profit agency is seeking an Employment Specialist in Waverly, NY. This role involves training individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in essential job skills. Responsibilities include supporting individuals through the employment process, teaching independent job skills, and assisting at their job sites. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (bachelor’s preferred) and at least two years of relevant experience. Benefits include competitive insurance, paid holidays, and generous PTO.

Formación

• Minimum two years of relevant experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines.

Responsabilidades

• Support individuals through the employment process, including resume development and job applications.
• Teach independent job skills utilizing job task analysis and specific supports.
• Work with individuals at their job to assist with analyzing and completing tasks.

Conocimientos

Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations

Ability to work individually and with a team

Educación

High School Diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred
