Job Overview

As an Employment Specialist, you will advocate for social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion for the disability community. Your role involves supporting individuals to develop employment skills, build relationships, and integrate into the Rochester community.

Responsibilities
  • Teach job search skills and identify potential barriers to employment
  • Facilitate appropriate job placements using analytical matching
  • Promote hiring of people with disabilities to employers
  • Provide on-site/off-site coaching to ensure job retention and satisfaction
  • Offer additional services like mobility training, self-advocacy, and work readiness
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with participants, families, and partners
  • Complete necessary documentation accurately and timely
