Job summary

Compass Career Solutions is hiring for an in-person Employment-focused role in the Washington area. You will perform client assessments, document plans, and coordinate with agencies to determine employment service eligibility.

Strong communication, organization, and a valid driver's license are required. Role emphasizes supporting clients toward independent employment, building career growth, and maintaining community partnerships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; preference for Bachelor's degree in social service field.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• One-year related experience and/or training with people in crisis, specifically employment services.
• Valid driver’s license and access to insured vehicle.
• Self-starter with good time management and proactive problem solving.
• Flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of DDA and DVR requirements.
• Conduct assessments and interviews to determine eligibility for employment services.
• Document care and collaborate with team members using reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Discover and maintain knowledge of clients, employment goals, matches, and other case management needs.
• Provide ongoing support to help clients obtain and retain independent employment.
• Assist clients in advancing career growth and skill building.
• Document progress toward goals and barriers in service plans.
• Build and maintain community partnerships with providers and employers.
• Represent Compass at meetings and community events.
• Attend scheduled internal and external meetings.
• Travel within the area and provide transportation as needed.
• Use assigned technology (laptop, phone, software) as directed.

Our Employment team is responsible for providing client-driven case management services, which include identifying and eliminating barriers to employment for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses.

Please note this role is not remote and requires in person attendance.

• Wage: $21.50/hour
• Full Range Scale $21.50 per hour - $23.95 per hour (Future increases within the posted range are based on tenure and performance per Compass compensation guidelines. The pay scale provided for this position is based on title and geographical location)

Job Description

• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of DDA (Developmental Disabilities Administration) and DVR (Division of Vocational Rehabilitation)
• Conduct assessments and interviews with clients to determine eligibility for employment services.
• Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.
• Discover and maintain knowledge of clients, their employment goals, potential employer matches, and other case mgt. needs.
• Provide ongoing support to assist clients in obtaining and retaining independent employment.
• Assist clients in furthering their career growth and skill building.
• Document data and notes on the individual’s progress toward goals on barriers to employment and in their service plans.
• Make connections to maintain strong community partnerships with other service providers and employers.
• Represent Compass at professional meetings, community events, and to members of the community.
• Attend and actively participate in scheduled internal and external meetings.
• Travel throughout the area and provide transportation to clients as needed.
• Ability to use assigned technology as directed in the community. Laptop, cell phone and designated software

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with a preference for a Bachelor’s degree in the social service field.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• One-year related experience and/or training working with people in crisis, specifically in employment services.
• A valid driver’s license, insurance, and access to a vehicle insured for you as a driver are required.
• Self-starter, excellent time management skills, and proactive problem solver.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Technology savvy - Especially Microsoft Office Applications and Zoom. PC and Android devices.
• Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.
• Ability to perform CPR/First Aide as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
