Job summary

Compass Career Solutions, sister company to Dungarvin, is seeking an Employment Specialist to provide client-driven case management and help individuals with disabilities overcome barriers to employment. This in-person role serves residents in the Kennewick area and involves coordinating with local agencies, employers, and support teams.

• Must have CPR/First Aid certification or be willing to obtain.
• Strong communication and documentation skills are essential.
• Driver's license, reliable vehicle, and insurance required.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Experience in client-centered employment services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of DDA and DVR programs.
• Conduct client assessments to determine employment service eligibility.
• Document care plans, progress notes, and service plans.
• Develop client employment goals and match with potential employers.
• Provide ongoing support to help clients obtain and retain employment.
• Travel throughout the area to meet clients and arrange transportation as needed.
• Represent Compass at meetings and community events.

Job Description

• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of DDA (Developmental Disabilities Administration) and DVR (Division of Vocational Rehabilitation)
• Conduct assessments and interviews with clients to determine eligibility for employment services.
• Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.
• Discover and maintain knowledge of clients, their employment goals, potential employer matches, and other case mgt. needs.
• Provide ongoing support to assist clients in obtaining and retaining independent employment.
• Assist clients in furthering their career growth and skill building.
• Document data and notes on the individual’s progress toward goals on barriers to employment and in their service plans.
• Make connections to maintain strong community partnerships with other service providers and employers.
• Represent Compass at professional meetings, community events, and to members of the community.
• Attend and actively participate in scheduled internal and external meetings.
• Travel throughout the area and provide transportation to clients as needed.
• Ability to use assigned technology as directed in the community. Laptop, cell phone and designated software

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with a preference for a Bachelor’s degree in the social service field.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• One-year related experience and/or training working with people in crisis, specifically in employment services.
• A valid driver’s license, insurance, and access to a vehicle insured for you as a driver are required
• Self-starter, excellent time management skills, and proactive problem solver
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• Technology savvy - Especially Microsoft Office Applications and Zoom. PC and Android devices.
• Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.
• Ability to perform CPR/First Aide as needed
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
