Job Overview

The Employment Services Specialist III is an advanced position responsible for providing a full range of employment services, primarily working with Delaware's disabled veteran population.

Selective Requirement

Applicants must meet the following selective requirement in addition to general job requirements:

  • Must have DD 214 verification.
Essential Functions
  • Conduct individual and group intake sessions to orient job seekers and employers to available services, and instruct/coaching on resource utilization.
  • Assess clients to determine service needs and identify employment potential using assessment tools and labor market information.
  • Assist job seekers in developing employment goals, identifying obstacles, and creating employability development plans.
  • Refer clients to employers for job placements and to educational/support agencies to address obstacles.
  • Develop job placement opportunities and work with eligible job seekers on training options.
  • Monitor progress and modify plans as necessary.
Job Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate competence in:

  • Two years of experience in career counseling, including assisting hard-to-serve job seekers, developing employment goals, and exploring barriers.
  • Two years of experience in delivering training courses using various methods and materials.
  • One year of experience in case management, interpreting laws and policies, and using standard computer software.
  • One year of experience in narrative report writing.
