WF251011 – Employment Programs Manager 2 – Kanawha County
EXEMPT POSITION
At WorkForce WV this is in the Apprenticeship/Special Programs unit. Provides oversight to the JVSG ensuring the Agency's compliance with federal laws by monitoring performance of staff assigned (LVER/DVOP/Consolidated). Provides oversight to the JVSG ensuring the Agency's compliance with federal laws by monitoring expenditures. Supervises the LVER's outreach to employers and employer groups such as business, industry, and other community-based organizations to ensure compliance with JVSG and state policies. Supervises the (Intensive Service Coordinator) DVOP's case management activities to ensure compliance with JVSG and the State's Intensive Service policies. Supervises the LVERs and ISC DVOPS daily work schedule, activities, and approved leave. Drafts grant and fiscal applications and annual modifications to secure or maintain funding. Compiles quarterly and as needed reports with performance and fiscal analysis. Coordinates VETS activities by providing guidance and program assistance to administration, local management teams and workforce staff. Coordinates and monitor the hiring and mentoring of new staff. Establishes core training curriculums and organize training events. Interprets program related to legislation or policies and draft guidance bulletins. Collaborate with federal partners to plan goals and expectations. Examples: TAP, VR&E, etc. Coordinates with state or federal agencies, employers, applicants, veteran organizations, etc. to develop partnerships. Performs desk or on-site audits of AJC/s or NSG staff. Enters and monitors service data in the management information system (MACC). Ensures compliance with DOLNET's national Veterans Training Institute 1s required training for funded staff. Attends and plans agency sponsored training or conferences as requested. Attends and/or participates in statewide meetings, training, etc. as directed. Participates in job fairs and other Veteran-specific events as directed. Attends staff meetings; may provide program information as requested. Mentors new NSG staff as needed. Process employee travel requests and reimbursements. Prepares travel reimbursement forms timely. Completes daily timesheets. Please note, this is an Exempt position and is not covered under the merit system administered by the West Virginia Division of Personnel.
