Summary

This role involves conducting and overseeing employment training and GED preparation for Re-Entry clients, utilizing principles of the 'What Works' system in all interactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct employment assessments and develop individual employment plans, documenting progress in the database.
  • Provide ongoing job preparation, retention, and life skills classes.
  • Establish and oversee job preparation and computer skills training resources; refer clients appropriately.
  • Coordinate with employment agencies and vocational schools for client placement and monitor progress.
  • Develop on-the-job support and conduct educational assessments to create personalized plans.
  • Manage computer labs for GED and remedial education, and facilitate referrals for further studies.
  • Potentially facilitate psycho-educational groups and manage a small caseload of clients, documenting all interactions.
  • Assist with general program operations as needed.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Criminal Justice, Education, or related field.
  • Two years of experience in employment services, plus one year in job search and retention methods.
  • Experience with local labor markets, effective communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; knowledge of community resources.
  • Bi-lingual in English/Spanish preferred.
