Job description

The WIPA Intake Specialist will provide administrative support to MAVI's Community Work Incentive Coordinators (CWIC) who work under the Social Security Administration's Work Incentive Planning and Assistance (WIPA) grant.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Accepting and screening all incoming referrals, agency referrals, faxes, and calls.
  2. Contacting referral sources (when applicable) to notify them of referral acceptance and pending services.
  3. Completing the Intake Form within 2 days of acceptance and entering intake data into the database system promptly.
  4. Providing information and referral services to beneficiaries who call or walk in.
  5. Relaying appropriate information to beneficiaries interested in WIPA services in a timely manner.
  6. Providing essential information to CWICs regarding beneficiaries transitioning into WIPA services.

Requisitos - Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related area.
  • Fully bilingual (written and spoken).
  • Previous experience working with people with disabilities and a proven commitment and sensitivity towards this group.
  • Completion of fingerprinting and a full background check approved by the Social Security Administration (SSA).
  • Proficiency in computer use, internet, Microsoft Office, and ability to work with additional SSA-imposed programs.
  • Ability to train others using flexible hours and alternative methodologies.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and a vehicle in good condition that complies with all state requirements.
