Job Description

Join the Law and Regulation team as an in-house counsel for Employment Litigation! This role is within the Law Department’s Global Litigation group, managing commercial and employment litigation, including class actions. Key responsibilities include managing complex employment litigation and arbitrations, collaborating with legal partners to advise the business on legal issues and risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage lawsuits, arbitrations, and legal disputes, overseeing outside counsel
  • Interview and retain law firms/outside counsel, manage budgets
  • Develop strategies for assigned matters
  • Review and revise pleadings, motions, and case filings
  • Provide legal advice on risk mitigation and compliance regarding employment laws
  • Participate in mediations/settlement conferences and review settlement agreements
  • Respond to agency charges, oversee discovery, and prepare witnesses
  • Attend court appearances, hearings, trials, mediations, and settlement conferences
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on legal risks and business practices
  • Prepare reports on litigation and legal issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited institution; active state bar license
  • 7+ years of employment and/or contract litigation experience, including trials
  • Knowledge of ERISA, worker classification, and commercial litigation is a plus
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
  • Ability to develop pragmatic legal solutions aligned with business objectives
Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not have supervisory duties.

Compensation

Annual salary ranges from $104,000 to $187,625, depending on experience and qualifications.
