Job summary

MoFo's Employment + Labor Group seeks a talented attorney with 4–6 years of litigation-focused experience to advise clients on employment law compliance, disputes, and investigations in California.

The ideal candidate will be admitted to the California Bar (or eligible to waive in), demonstrate excellent writing and client-relations skills, and have experience handling wage-hour, discrimination, and related matters with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Must have 4–6 years of experience with litigation at the core of practice.
• Provide high-level advice to clients on employment law compliance issues and disputes.
• Experience defending companies in wage & hour, discrimination, and pay equity matters.

Who You Are

• You have top academic credentials with 4 – 6 years of experience in, with litigation at the core of your practice:
  • Providing high-level advice and counsel to clients on a day-to-day basis on employment law compliance issues.
  • Litigating trade secret/employee mobility, whistleblower (SOX, Dodd Frank), and defending companies in other high-stakes wrongful termination, employment discrimination and harassment and pay disputes.
  • Defending companies in complex employment actions in state and federal court, including wage and hour, discrimination, and pay equity class, collective and representative actions.
  • Conducting workplace investigations involving the C-suite and beyond.
  • Conducting due diligence of potential employment law issues and areas of exposure in mergers, acquisitions, financings, and other corporate transactions.
  • Negotiating executive employment, separation and similar agreements.
• You have strong writing and client relations skills, as well as the demonstrated ability to manage litigation on a day-to-day basis; draft and argue substantive briefs and motions; and take and defend depositions with limited supervision.
• You have trial experience (preferred but not required).
• You are admitted to the state bar in which you are practicing or are eligible to waive in.
