Overview

Employment Coordinator at Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is responsible for leading job development and placement efforts within our Behavioral Health and Reentry Services division. In this role, you will connect individuals with employment opportunities, build partnerships with local employers, and guide clients toward meaningful, lasting self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Place clients in employment or vocational training before discharge.
  • Visit work sites, verify employment, and document outcomes per funder requirements.
  • Market clients to employers and develop partnerships with businesses and training centers.
  • Conduct vocational assessments and provide career counseling within the first two weeks of client orientation.
  • Lead monthly job readiness and retention workshops.
  • Organize quarterly job fairs and employer recruitment events.
  • Supervise job coaches and collaborate with external partners such as the Department of Labor.
  • Maintain documentation and data collection aligned with quality assurance goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in job placement, career development, or vocational counseling.
  • At least 1 year of experience in job search and retention programming.
  • Familiarity with local labor market trends and employer networks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency driving standards.
  • Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
