Job summary

ADEC Inc. is seeking an Employment Consultant to help individuals with IDD find meaningful work in Elkhart and St. Joseph County. You will guide clients through job searches, interviews, onboarding, and ongoing employer mentoring to secure placements.

The role emphasizes advocacy for client abilities, developing employer partnerships, and expanding opportunities within the local community. This is an on-site position with competitive benefits and annual reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in HR or staffing is desirable.
• Experience with individuals served in IDD populations is helpful.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to meet with employers to create employment opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Discuss with your client what meaningful work means for them.
• Assist them in their job search, interviewing, and on-boarding.
• Mentor clients and employers to make a successful job placement.
• Search for employment opportunities that meet an individual's goals and abilities.
• Advocate for an individual's abilities and desire for employment with area employers.
• Partner with employers to fill their employment needs.
• Develop new employer partnerships with NADSP-aligned programs.
