Starting Rate $21.20/hour. Plus mileage and cell phone reimbursement + bonus incentives for job placements $100-600 (prorated)

In the Employment Coach role, you will be support someone with:
  • Job development, including resume building, practice interviews, learning new employability skills
  • Transportation to and from work, and assistance with accessing their community
  • Maintaining employment and productivity
  • Discovering their interests, skills, and employment goals
  • Creating a meaningful daily schedule by working with their circle of support

One of your main goals will be to develop a friendly professional and respectful relationship with the person(s) you are assigned to, as well as to help them build positive relationships with their with co-workers, roommates, and neighbors.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Completion of High School or GED.
  • College experience or degree is desired, but not required.
  • Reliable auto that can pass our safety inspection, with valid vehicle registration and insurance.
  • Clean criminal background check, drug test, and motor vehicle record.
  • Communication skills with the ability to use a cell phone and computer.
  • Ability to speak and write in English.
  • Experience with positive behavior approach is a plus, but is not required.
  • Experience with (Autism) ASD is a plus, but is not required, rather an interest in helping a person to be integrated into their community and productive citizens
  • Bilingual skills are desired, but not required.
  • First Aid / CPR certificate (desired; we provide additional training as needed).
A comprehensive paid training program is provided at the time of hire and an ongoing basis.

Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions of the job are denoted. The Employment Coach assumes the following responsibilities under the direction of the Support Manager and in collaboration with other members of the leadership team and their staff.

  • Understands and practices IRI’s mission and embraces person-centered values.
  • Demonstrates respectful and dignified interaction and communication with IRI persons served, stakeholders (such as co-workers, employers, family members, community members) and IRI colleagues.
  • Assumes competence and builds esteem in all interactions with IRI persons served.
  • Implement a normalized community integrated employment focused service.
  • Develop integrated work schedules.
  • Find integrated work settings and develop competitive employment placement.
  • Provide encouragement for meaningful employment related activities to the client.
  • Conduct frequent job site analysis - pre, during and post-employment.
  • Implement adaptation strategies and devices based upon individual need.
  • Provide typical and specialized healthcare needs (medication, hygiene, toiletry feeding) as needed.
  • Implement individual service plan goals and SMART objectives.
  • Monitor positive behavior strategysystem and plans.
  • Conduct task analysis and demonstrate data-based training decisions.
  • Dependable and reports to work on time on a daily basis.
  • Maintains regular communication with employer or volunteer site coordinator.
  • Completes all required documents: eRSP daily care notes, daily activities, clocking in/out.
  • Attends and completes staff development training and attend monthly trainings.
  • Communicate progress to IRI persons served and manager.
  • Dresses professionally and/or appropriately for tasks that are done with person supported (see dress code policy).
  • Demonstrate proper emergency strategies.
  • Contact and report emergencies to Support Manager, as necessary.
  • Collaborates with individual served and supported, Lead Employment Coach, Support Manager and circle of supportto complete customized employment activities including discovery, vocational profile and list of twentyprospective employers for job development.
  • Contact prospective employers and facilitate job application for participants.
  • Shadow and train other coaches with a specific individual you support.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Support Manager, Director of Services, and Chief Executive Officer.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to allow individuals to perform the essential functions of the job or restructure marginal functions.
  • In an eight-hour working day the employee is required to stand an average of one hour, sit an average of six hours and walk an average of one hour.
  • During the working day, the employee must frequently bend and stoop, climb stairs, reach above shoulder level, balance, and pull and push, and drive.
  • During the working day, the employee must occasionally lift between 1 to 10 lbs.
  • During the working day, the employee must occasionally carry between 1 to 10 lbs.
  • The employee is required to use both hands for at least a portion of the day.
  • The employee is required to have typical visual and hearing capacity.
  • The employee is required to drive an automobile to meet functions of job responsibilities.
  • This position may require the use of smart phones and other mobile electronic devices to perform work functions. The employee’s use of company-issued devices or pre-authorized use of the employee’s personal device will comply with the agency’s Cell Phone Policy at all times.
