Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a highly motivated Employment Associate Attorney with 3-4 years of experience in employment defense to join its renowned Employment and Labor practice in San Francisco. The ideal candidate will have experience in defending clients in wage and hour class actions, discrimination, and retaliation cases, as well as providing guidance on employment policies and practices. Candidates who are eager to take on responsibility and have strong legal writing and research skills will thrive in this role. This opportunity offers the chance to work with a diverse group of clients across a wide range of industries.

Location:

Duties:

  • Defend clients in employment litigation, including wage and hour class actions, discrimination, and retaliation cases
  • Draft and review legal motions, including motions for summary judgment and other dispositive motions
  • Advise clients on employment policies, procedures, and legal risks
  • Draft employment agreements and develop training and auditing programs for employers
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice to clients
  • Collaborate with attorneys across offices and industry sectors
  • Represent clients in litigation, including court appearances and negotiations
  • Participate in crisis management services and conduct workplace investigations
  • Engage in public speaking, webinars, and seminars on current employment law issues
  • Contribute to the production of a weekly newsletter and media content on legal developments

Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of experience in employment defense litigation
  • Strong written and verbal communication and advocacy skills
  • Excellent legal research and analytical abilities
  • Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and proactively
  • Experience advising clients on employment policies and compliance
  • Ability to draft complex legal documents and provide actionable legal advice
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
