Job summary

AOE International, a nonprofit focused on workforce development and education, seeks a Manager of Employer Relations to build and maintain employer partnerships that translate training into jobs.

You will secure signed MOUs, convene an employer advisory group quarterly, and collaborate with local unions and contractor associations to shape curricula and hiring forecasts. Strong negotiation and presentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in business development or employer services.
• Experience securing employer commitments or partnerships.
• Knowledge of the region's electrical and solar contractors or building trades unions.
• Strong presentation and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Secure 8 to 12 signed employer MOUs or partnership agreements in Year 1.
• Convene the employer advisory group each quarter to review curriculum, graduate performance and hiring forecasts.
• Build working relationships with the region's union apprenticeship programs and contractor associations.
• Bring employers into the program: guest speakers, job site visits, mock interviews and interview days for cohorts.
• Arrange work-based learning placements with written host agreements in Kankakee and Champaign where no coordinator exists.
• Track job openings and project timelines in solar, electrical and charging work; inform relevant managers of demand shifts.
• Coordinate employer contact with Navigator and CEJA programs to ensure consistent outreach.
• Record commitments and placements; report monthly to the Director.
