Job summary

The State of Nebraska is seeking a Career Placement Specialist (VR Service or Rehabilitation Specialist) in Scottsbluff, NE. You will engage local businesses, promote vocational rehabilitation services, and help clients prepare resumes, complete applications, and practice interviewing skills.

The role requires strong communication, collaboration with the VR team, and the ability to travel for community-based evaluations and job development activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in job development or workforce services is a plus.
• Ability to travel and work with diverse clients and employers.

Responsibilities

• Assists clients in preparing resumes and applications and practicing interviewing skills.
• Provides information about job requirements to clients and assists with job retention.
• Instructs clients in Job Seeking Skills (JSS) training and job development activities.
• Initiates and develops relationships with employers, HR, and management.
• Develops evaluations and on-the-job trainings (OJEs/OJTs).
• Provides career counseling and disability support to help clients achieve employment outcomes.
