Job summary

REI Co-op is seeking an Employee Store Associate to manage daily store operations, assist employees with Prodeal and discount purchases, and support vendor communications. You will maintain displays, handle register transactions, and uphold high levels of service.

The role requires strong customer service, product knowledge, and teamwork across DC and admin teams. Schedule is Monday to Friday, with benefits and employee discounts described by the company.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or retail settings.
• Ability to operate registers and assist customers.
• Familiarity with discount policies and prodeal basics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate the daily employee store, including register transactions.
• Maintain impulse displays and monthly impulse inventory.
• Provide first-tier support on employee discount and prodeal policies.
• Liaise between employees and REI vendors to resolve prodeal issues.
• Maintain product knowledge and high sales/service standards.
• Track trends and support DC gear rental program.
• Assist adjacent teams in operations, outreach and administration.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

How you will be successful:

The Employee Store Associate contribute to REI’s success by administering the employee ordering and return process for all online REI Prodeal and employee discount purchases in addition to vendor Prodeals for their related distribution center. This position leverages understanding of the employee discount and Prodeal policies to provide first tier support to internal customers.

• Responsible for the daily operation of the employee store including register transactions, impulse purchasing, visual displays of merchandise, maintaining monthly impulse inventory as well as establishing a friendly environment in the store.
• Maintain current knowledge of the employee discount and prodeal policies.
• Evaluates and prioritizes incoming/outgoing e-mails and in-person requests.
• Act as a liaison between employees and REI vendors to resolve vendor prodeal issues.
• Maintain a high level of product knowledge and sales & service skills.
• Track and report identified trends to facilitate accurate, timely and continuously improving levels of service.
• Manage the DC gear rental program
• May also provide support to various teams, included but not limited to; operational teams in the DC, Outreach, and Administration.
