What You Will Do

As the Employee Relations Manager, you will serve as a trusted HR partner and subject matter resource for employee relations across BHG's field operations. You will advise leaders on complex workplace matters, conduct investigations, support performance management, and help ensure employment practices are fair, consistent, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Lead and manage employee relations matters, including workplace complaints, investigations, performance concerns, disciplinary actions, and other sensitive team member issues.
  • Conduct thorough, objective, and timely workplace investigations, including interviews, documentation, findings, and recommendations.
  • Coach and advise managers on performance management, corrective action, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and other employee relations matters.
  • Partner with HR leadership and operational leaders to identify employee relations trends, root causes, and opportunities to improve retention, engagement, and the overall team member experience.
  • Help ensure consistent application of employment policies and practices across a geographically dispersed, multi-state workforce.
  • Provide guidance on terminations, promotions, transfers, compensation adjustments, and other employment decisions in partnership with appropriate HR teams.
  • Partner with HR leadership and legal/compliance resources on complex or high-risk employee relations matters.
  • Assist with the development, interpretation, maintenance, and implementation of employment policies and HR practices.
  • Support responses to state and local agency inquiries, audits, requests for information, and other employment-related matters.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of employee relations matters, investigations, and outcomes.
  • Identify patterns and trends in employee relations activity and provide insights that help leaders proactively address workforce concerns.
  • Support HR initiatives associated with organizational growth, change management, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Total Rewards, and other HR partners to support BHG's broader people strategy.
  • Model and advance BHG's Core Values of Hope, Respect, and Caring in every interaction.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of employee relations experience, including independently managing workplace investigations and complex employee matters.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR practices, with experience supporting a multi-state workforce strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching managers through performance management, corrective action, conflict resolution, and other sensitive employment situations.
  • Strong judgment and the ability to objectively assess complex situations, identify risk, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond with an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Collaborative approach and demonstrated ability to work effectively across HR and operational teams.
  • Strong business acumen and an understanding of how employee relations decisions impact both team members and business operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, and experience working with HR information systems.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or organizational integrations is a plus.
  • Healthcare or multi-site operations experience is a plus.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.
