Job summary

Central States Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking an Operator to support manufacturing operations by running production equipment, handling materials, and ensuring products meet specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. You will perform equipment setup, routine inspections, material movement, and documentation while maintaining a clean, organized work area.

The role includes cross-training across multiple production areas to enhance flexibility and deliver Right. On Time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Completion of a technical or vocational training program in manufacturing, machining, or related field preferred.
• Experience operating production equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Follow all plant safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Set up and operate production equipment (panel lines, purlin machines, slitter/recoil systems, standing seam lines, Alpha equipment, seamer tables).
• Perform material handling (loading coils, moving raw materials, catching/stacking finished goods, operating hoists/cranes/forklifts).
• Read and follow engineering drawings, job packets, and work instructions for accurate production.
• Report equipment issues and support basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain clean, organized, safe work area and complete end-of-shift housekeeping.
• Train new hires on equipment, procedures, safety, and quality standards.
• Ensure Quality Control is performed at each work center and support continuous improvement.
