Job summary

Central States Manufacturing, Inc. in Mount Airy, NC is seeking a Technician to support manufacturing, production, material handling, and quality activities across multiple workstations.

You'll follow safety procedures and standard work to ensure efficient operations and high-quality output for internal and external customers. You will train, cross-train, and collaborate with Operator Owners and supervisors to maintain smooth workflow, meet daily targets, and identify improvement opportunities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing, assembly, or fabrication.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Support setup and operation of workstations, including loading, catching, trimming, wrapping, banding, assembly, and roll-forming tasks.
• Perform material handling and move materials as needed.
• Monitor machine output and assist with basic troubleshooting.
• Complete production tasks using hand and power tools.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and assist with shift end housekeeping.
• Train new hires on equipment, procedures, safety, and quality standards.
• Ensure Quality Control is performed at each work center and support cross-training.
• Cross-train and perform duties in multiple production areas as needed.
