Job summary

Central States in Springdale, AR, is seeking a Machine Operator I to join our team and contribute to high‑quality metal building components. The role involves operating production equipment, following safety procedures, and supporting continuous improvement on the shop floor.

You will work under supervision to set up and operate non‑computerized equipment, read simple fabrication drawings, and help ensure on‑time production and accurate inspections.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience operating production equipment.
• Experience operating hoists, cranes and forklifts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow plant safety procedures and use PPE.
• Set up and operate production equipment per procedures.
• Report machinery issues to Maintenance promptly.
• Clean and reset work area at shift end.
• Update records and visual tracking accurately.
• Cross-train and be willing to work various production positions.
• Operate non-computerized equipment and hand/power tools.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to produce parts.
• Inspect subassemblies visually and dimensionally.
• Use measuring tools to verify specs.
• Mark material with job numbers and identifiers.
• Lift or move materials manually or with hoists/cranes.
