The Employee Benefits Account Manager markets and services accounts in accordance with company objectives and procedures. The role complements advisor responsibilities for new business development and existing client retention, maintaining a book of accounts based on location practice.
In this role, you will:
- Assist EBAdvisor with requests for insurance coverage quotes from insurance companies for organizational groups (business, nonprofits, etc.).
- Complete comparisons, benefit/cost analyses, and reports for review and discussion per established procedures.
- Accurately enter policy data into electronic systems and keep them current within established time guidelines.
- Process renewals, changes, or amendments to coverage/policies during and after review, overseeing internal activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Communicate with team members and assist advisors to ensure timely follow-up on renewal dates, maintaining regular contact 45-60 days prior to renewal.
- Maintain proper documentation and follow-up on issues with policies, claims, or coverage concerns with insurance companies and insureds.
- Assist advisors with insurance quotes and related matters as directed.
- Respond to insured inquiries regarding policy changes or amendments.
- Schedule quarterly reviews of group insurance status and needs with advisors, whether in person or via other communication channels.
- Distribute information and reports promptly to ensure appropriate involvement by brokers.
- Prepare and maintain accurate quote comparison sheets for coverage cost and benefit analysis.
- Record claims activity and costs into electronic systems monthly for report generation, ensuring proper documentation of problem claims.
- Respond to correspondence and maintain records related to active work assignments, updating advisors and management regularly.
- Review documentation, applications, and policy files for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain knowledge of all lines of coverage and stay informed of market conditions and legislation.
- Attend scheduled meetings and follow up on assigned tasks.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management.
- Provide training and mentoring to Customer Service Representatives.
