Job summary

Job description

The Employee Benefits Account Manager markets and services accounts in accordance with company objectives and procedures. The role complements advisor responsibilities for new business development and existing client retention, maintaining a book of accounts based on location practice.

In this role, you will:

  1. Assist EBAdvisor with requests for insurance coverage quotes from insurance companies for organizational groups (business, nonprofits, etc.).
  2. Complete comparisons, benefit/cost analyses, and reports for review and discussion per established procedures.
  3. Accurately enter policy data into electronic systems and keep them current within established time guidelines.
  4. Process renewals, changes, or amendments to coverage/policies during and after review, overseeing internal activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  5. Communicate with team members and assist advisors to ensure timely follow-up on renewal dates, maintaining regular contact 45-60 days prior to renewal.
  6. Maintain proper documentation and follow-up on issues with policies, claims, or coverage concerns with insurance companies and insureds.
  7. Assist advisors with insurance quotes and related matters as directed.
  8. Respond to insured inquiries regarding policy changes or amendments.
  9. Schedule quarterly reviews of group insurance status and needs with advisors, whether in person or via other communication channels.
  10. Distribute information and reports promptly to ensure appropriate involvement by brokers.
  11. Prepare and maintain accurate quote comparison sheets for coverage cost and benefit analysis.
  12. Record claims activity and costs into electronic systems monthly for report generation, ensuring proper documentation of problem claims.
  13. Respond to correspondence and maintain records related to active work assignments, updating advisors and management regularly.
  14. Review documentation, applications, and policy files for accuracy and completeness.
  15. Maintain knowledge of all lines of coverage and stay informed of market conditions and legislation.
  16. Attend scheduled meetings and follow up on assigned tasks.
  17. Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management.
  18. Provide training and mentoring to Customer Service Representatives.
