Job summary

BAART Programs in Vermont seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to dispense prescribed medications as part of a treatment team, working with physicians and nursing supervisors. The role includes maintaining dispensing equipment, inventory management, and reporting patient treatment information.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with supervisory counseling staff, demonstrate empathy and a non-judgmental attitude toward individuals in substance use disorder, and comply with federal and state

Qualifications

• Current & good standing LPN license in Vermont.
• CPR certification required.
• EMR and computer proficiency preferred.
• Experience in chemical dependency preferred and a positive attitude toward individuals in substance abuse treatment.

Responsibilities

• Administer daily medication to patients in accordance with policy and medical protocols.
• Use automated dispensing systems, calibrate pumps and maintain dispensing equipment.
• Maintain records and reports as required by protocol and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with security standards for distribution and storage of controlled substances as per CFR.
• Order, receive and stock medication in line with DEA/state regulations.
• Provide daily assessment of patients.
• Assist Nursing Supervisor in orienting new staff.
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor.
