Job summary

Listings Project seeks a caring, patient, and collaborative caregiver for a modestly verbal young woman with profound autism in Upper Manhattan/NYC. The role includes daily living support, hygiene and medication prompting, meal preparation, and assisting with activities at home and in classes.

Occasional overnights may be required; training pays $25/hour, with $30–$38/hour after training based on experience.

Qualifications

• Experienced with high-needs individuals.
• Patient, proactive and collaborative.
• Competent swimmer.
• Must be able to drive with a valid driver’s license.
• Comfortable with occasional physical outbursts.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living tasks with prompting (bathing, brushing hair/teeth, dressing).
• Help with hygiene and medication administration (pills only, per printed schedule).
• Heat and plate pre-prepared meals.
• Encourage independence and appropriate behavior at home and in the community.
• Engage in preferred and new leisure activities at home and in classes (drawing, music, puzzles).
• Support during physical activities (yoga, swimming, treadmill) alongside instructors.
• Promote smooth transitions and use of behavioral strategies during challenging moments.
