Job summary

Southeast Delco School District is seeking a Special Education Teacher-Emotional Support for grades 6-8 at Harris School. The role focuses on delivering developmentally appropriate lessons, aligning with PA standards, and maintaining effective communication with students and families.

The ideal candidate will implement IEPs, work with students with special needs, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Pennsylvania Certification: Special Education PK-12, Special Education K-8.
• Master's Degree in Education or related field desired.
• 2+ years of experience teaching in education environment desired.

Responsibilities

• Education of students and implementation of IEPs.
• Work directly with students with special education needs and teams.
• Provide 1:1 training to staff in instruction and behavior as required by IEP.
• Develop IEPs with IEP teams.
• Prepare lessons aligned to PA State Standards and IEPs.
• Implement adaptations for testing and assessment.
• Identify accommodations and specially designed instruction for student success.
• Develop individual assessments and administer diagnostic tests.
• Collaborate with School Psychologist to develop Positive Behavior Support Plans.
• Implement Crisis Intervention and Safety Care strategies.
• Monitor student progress and attendance records.
• Collaborate with teacher assistant and IEP team members.
