Job summary

Millcreek Township School District is seeking a Special Educational Assistant for Emotional Support at JS Wilson Middle School in Erie, PA. Immediate start with a comprehensive benefits package for full-time staff.

Responsibilities include supporting daily living activities, academic review, and supervision during activities, lunch, and field trips, while coordinating with teachers and therapists. Competitive hourly pay and opportunities for ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years post-secondary (48 credits) or associate degree or passing score on the paraprofessional assessment.
• Follow instructions of principal, teacher, nurse, therapists while assisting students.
• Assist students with daily living activities such as toileting, feeding, dressing.
• Computer knowledge and willingness to work with new technology.
• Maintain CPR, First Aid and UKERU training annually; 20 hours of PD.

Responsibilities

• Assist in small group or individual review with students in math, reading and other curricula areas.
• Work with other students while teacher is teaching groups; one-on-one support as needed.
• Assist students during elective subjects (Art, Music, P.E.).
• Assist with daily living activities (toileting, feeding, dressing).
• Assist during lunch/recess and field trips; may serve as van driver.
• Support behavioral management and related therapy device use for students.
• Record data and complete logs; assist with billing for related services.
