Job summary

OpenTalent in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Development Test Engineer to drive the evaluation and improvement of gasoline engine aftertreatment performance for regulatory compliance and efficiency.

You will develop and integrate system technologies including engine hardware, exhaust sensors, control strategies, calibration, and the propulsion integration to meet upcoming emissions standards, using dynamometers and simulations to prove objectives.

Qualifications

• Evaluate and improve gasoline engine aftertreatment performance to meet regulatory standards.
• Develop system technologies including engine hardware, exhaust sensors, control strategies, calibration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Plan, execute and interpret dynamometer tests to validate performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Direct/schedule day-to-day engine/PT dynamometer or vehicle-based testing.
• Apply project management practices to planning, scheduling, and reporting using MS Project, Excel, etc.
• Develop emissions system solutions for future high-efficiency powertrains.
• Optimize calibration of engine and emissions system for new hardware.
• Investigate competitor emission systems to understand strategies and performance.
• Direct multiple technology development projects with suppliers to meet system needs.
• Plan, test, analyze, and solve complex powertrain problems to meet objectives.
